Step 3 Quality of Life: What do you think?
1. Start a new page on your website titled Quality of life
2. Read the page here that explains quality of life and civilization.
3. On your first page Nomadic v Sedentary
please write down a definiton of quality of life in your own words and put it on the page.
4. On your Quality of LIfe page explain again what quality of life is. Then write down what you would use if you were in charge of measuring quality of life.
5. Find at least two other people in the school, explain to them what quality of life is, and ask them what they would use to measure quality of life. Record their name and answers on your Quality of Life page.
6. On your Quality of Life page explain in your own words what civilization is
Essential Question: Is it a better quality of life to be nomadic or to live a sedentary lifestyle?
Step 4 Quality of Life in the Classroom
You are going to determine the quality of life of the classroom. This means that you are going to determine how good the life in the classroom is. You will do this by:
1. Choosing two or three things to measure the quality of life of the classroom. (These are the two or three things that would determine whether it is good in the classroom) It could be a question such as does the classroom have good food or does it smell good in the classroom.
2. Ask each of your classmates if they believe these things are in the classroom and record their answers.
3. Use the chart attached to record their answers and calculate the quality of life in the class
4. On your website write whether you think think this classroom has a high or low quality of life and why.
Step 5 Quality of Life in this class
In this class, we will use the following as indicators (measurements) of quality of life:
- Infant Mortality.
-Lifespan
- Health
- Nutrition
- Work Time
1. Listen to the woman on the left explain what each measurement of quality of life is.
2. On your Quality of Life page explain what each of the measurements of quality of life are that we are using in class and what they mean (in your own words)
3. Add one more thing that you think should be used to measure quality of life.
