Step 2 The Oregon Trail

The Oregon Trail was used by travelers who wished to settle out west. It was not an easy trail to follow however, and many travelers encountered road blocks along the way.

1. Look at the PowerPoint on the right to get an idea of what the landscape was like out west.

2.  Review the following resources, add a picture and answer the following questions on a Google Doc titled "The Oregon Trial":

- How did people travel across the trail?

- What dangers did travelers face on the trail?

- Could travelers take alot of supplies with them? What could they take?

- Imagine you had to travel with your family out west on the Oregon Trail. Your wagon is almost full and you are told you can only bring three more items. What items would you choose and why?

3. Play the game to the right to experience what life was like traveling along the Oregon Trail.
