-Why did they leave England?
-When did they leave and where did they land?

D. Explore the Thanksgiving link on your right. On your Plymouth page, write down at least four new things that you learned about the first Thanksgiving.
E. How was your idea of Thanksgiving different than what really occurred? WHy do you think it was different?

Step 2: The New England Economies
People also moved into the New England Colonies to make money. However, the winters were long and cold and soil was rocky and not very fertile. Therefore, the northern colonies were not very good places for having large plantations.
